Obverse description In the central field, the coat of arms of Switzerland is depicted in relief, flanked to the left by the coat of arms of the Canton of Neuchâtel and to the right by the coat of arms of the city of Neuchâtel, all grouped before a fasces surmounted by an axe. The date '14-17 JUILLET' appears in the lower field, with the year '1893' at the bottom, flanked by two stars, and the engraver's signature 'B. LANCHET' in the exergue.

Reverse description The central field displays a sculptural group in relief depicting the three Swiss Confederates — Arnold of Melchtal, Walter Fürst, and Werner Stauffacher — raising their right hands to take the Rütli Oath, standing on a pedestal. The legend arcs around the upper and left portion of the field, and the engraver's signature 'W. PITTNER' appears below the pedestal in the exergue.
