Obverse description Three leopard heads affronté, derived from the armorial bearings of the Worshipful Company of Weavers, arranged within a twisted wire inner circle. A Latin legend encircles the central device in the outer field, naming the issuer. The design is characteristic of the small privately issued copper farthing tokens produced in mid-seventeenth-century England, struck by hand with irregular flan edges.
