Fantasy pieces issued under the "X" numbering system in Krause's catalog occupy an awkward space — privately produced, not authorized by any government mint, and issued purely for the collector market. This piece commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Netherlands' liberation in 1945, but 1970 saw no official Dutch gold issue to that effect. The legitimate Dutch royal mint produced commemorative florins and guilders through proper channels; this gold piece exists outside that framework entirely.
Queen Juliana reigned from 1948, meaning she was Princess during liberation — a detail occasionally exploited by fantasy producers to lend biographical plausibility.
