| Obverse description | Single large Persian letter 'He' (ه) occupying the central field, boldly rendered in relief against a plain ground. The letter is stylized in a fluid, calligraphic form characteristic of Tipu Sultan's coinage. The rim is irregular and slightly granular, consistent with the hammered fabric of this small gold fanam. |
