Obverse description Central device depicts the Qajar lion-and-sun emblem, showing a rampant lion in profile facing right with a rising sun behind its back, rendered in relief against a flat field. The date in Eastern Arabic numerals (١٢٧٢, corresponding to AH 1272) is inscribed below the lion motif, separated by a horizontal line. The central device is enclosed within a wreath of stylized foliate branches extending along both sides. A six-pointed floral or star ornament appears at the top of the field above the lion, and a cartouche or decorative element is present at the base.
