Reverse description Within a plain raised circular border, the field bears a bold Arabic legend in two lines identifying the mint city and Hijri regnal year. The word 'فاس' (Fes) appears in the upper portion of the field, with the AH date below, divided by a small central pellet. The inscription is struck in a broad, somewhat informal hand typical of hammered Moroccan falus coinage of the Alaoui sultans.
