Additional information

Fat'h Ali Shah's provincial copper coinage is among the most inconsistently produced of the entire Qajar period — weight standards varied dramatically between mints, and Orumiyeh, a secondary northwestern mint operating near the Ottoman frontier, exercised little central oversight. The falus circulated among a population that used copper almost exclusively for small daily transactions, while silver and gold moved through entirely different hands.

Orumiyeh mint output from the 1820s is sparsely documented in the major catalogues.
