| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized lion passant in low relief, rendered in the traditional Qajar artistic idiom, facing left with a solar disk or floral motif at its back. An Arabic inscription appears below the lion in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a border of raised pellets encircling the flan, characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the period. The strike is somewhat weak and off-center, as typical of provincial Qajar falus issues. The flan edges show irregular clipping consistent with hand-cut copper planchets. |
