| Obverse description | Central field features the emblematic Iranian lion passant facing left, depicted in a stylized manner with a raised foreleg brandishing a sword aloft. A solar disc or sun radiates from behind the lion's back, forming the classic Shir-o-Khorshid (Lion and Sun) motif characteristic of Qajar-era coinage. The figures are rendered in low relief typical of hammered provincial copper issues, with an irregular beaded border encircling the design. The overall execution reflects the provincial workshop style of the Khoy mint, with some weakness of strike visible across the field. |
