Obverse description A lion passant is depicted in left profile at the centre of the field, rendered in a bold, somewhat stylised manner typical of late Safavid and Zand-era provincial copper coinage. A radiant sun rises from behind the lion's back, a heraldic motif long associated with Iranian royal and civic authority. The surrounding field bears Arabic legends identifying the denomination and mint, with visible traces of decorative border elements. The strike is irregular, consistent with provincial hammered technique, and surface patination obscures some fine detail.
