Obverse description Schematic solar face rendered in low relief at the centre of the irregular rectangular flan, with radiating elements extending outward from a circular border to suggest the sun's rays. The design is boldly conceived yet crudely executed, consistent with anonymous provincial hammered copper coinage from the Persian Gulf port of Bu Shahr. The face is depicted in a highly stylised, frontal aspect with minimal facial detail, characteristic of the local mint tradition. Surface irregularities and flan stress marks are inherent to the hammered technique employed.
