| Obverse description | A lion passant is depicted in profile facing right, standing atop a large fish rendered in low relief, referencing the astrological conjunction of Leo and Pisces — a traditional Persian royal and astrological symbol. The lion's body is boldly modelled in a naive but vigorous style characteristic of Safavid copper coinage. The composition fills the irregular flan, with the fish curving beneath the lion's feet. The overall execution is typical of provincial hammered copper issues, with some weakness at the edges due to the irregular flan. |
