The legends proclaim standard Islamic religious formulae, consistent with Aghlabid fals coinage of the reign of Ziyadat Allah I. The strike is slightly off-center on an irregular flan, and the border is plain. The bold, angular Kufic characters are well-defined despite the modest size of the copper flan. |
