Obverse description Central field bearing the first part of the Shahada (kalima) in angular Kufic script, arranged in two lines across the flan. A small star device appears in the field alongside the inscription. The legends are crudely struck, as is characteristic of early Umayyad copper coinage from al-Andalus, with the script occupying the majority of the coin's surface within an undecorated border.
