Obverse description Central device depicting a radiate solar face shown full-frontal, with stylized rays emanating from the crown of the head forming a nimbus or solar disc motif, rendered in low relief in the Anatolian Seljuk artistic tradition. The face displays schematic features including almond-shaped eyes, a broad nose, and a closed mouth, characteristic of the iconic Sun type coinage of the Rûm Sultanate. The surrounding field is plain, and the flan is irregular and crudely struck, as typical of hammered copper issues of this period. The entire design is contained within the roughly circular, uneven flan without a formal border.
