| Obverse description | Central field occupied by multiple horizontal lines of Arabic Kufic script arranged in three or four registers, the legends poorly preserved due to the crude hammered technique and subsequent corrosion. The coin is bounded by a roughly executed scalloped or beaded border following the irregular flan. The die-work is characteristically provincial and utilitarian, consistent with the anonymous copper coinage struck by the Andalusian Muslim rulers of Crete during the ninth and tenth centuries. |

| Reverse description | Reverse field largely flat and heavily corroded, with only faint traces of what appear to be Arabic Kufic legends arranged in horizontal registers, now largely illegible. The surface shows extensive patination and pitting consistent with prolonged burial. The scalloped border visible on the obverse is similarly present on the reverse, reflecting the same irregular planchet and crude hammered production characteristic of this anonymous provincial emission. |
