Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Kufic Arabic religious inscription arranged in four or five horizontal lines, typical of post-reform Umayyad epigraphy. The legends are set within a plain inner circle with no figural imagery, consistent with the aniconic reform coinage introduced under Abd al-Malik. The script is rendered in an angular early Kufic style characteristic of eastern mint productions. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered copper issues of the period.
