| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized tree or palm motif rendered in a schematic, provincial manner, surrounded by a border of pellets. Arabic inscription in Kufic script occupies the field, reading the shahada partial formula. The design is characteristic of early Umayyad post-reform provincial copper coinage, struck on an irregular planchet with flat, uneven relief typical of hammered fulus of the period. |
