| Reverse description | Central field inscribed in Arabic Naskh script with the mint name and regnal year arranged in horizontal lines. Two die varieties are recorded: variety (a) reading 'struck in Damascus in the year six and ninety and seven hundred' (AH 796 / AD 1394), and variety (b) reading 'struck in Damascus in the year seven and ninety and seven hundred' (AH 797 / AD 1395). The flan is irregularly shaped with a heavily encrusted green patina obscuring fine details. The legends fill the field without a bordering frame. |
