Obverse description Three-line Arabic Kufic-influenced thuluth inscription occupying the entire field of this irregular hammered copper fals, reading 'al-Sultan / al-Malik al-Nasir / Muhammad' in stacked horizontal registers. The legends are boldly struck in relief against a flat, unadorned field, with no border or marginal ornament. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of Mamluk hammered copper coinage, with the edges showing characteristic casting and striking irregularities. The script displays the angular, densely composed style characteristic of Mamluk chancellery lettering on base-metal issues.
