Obverse description Central field occupied by a linear hexagonal frame enclosing the ruler's name and titles in Arabic Kufic script arranged in multiple lines. The legend reads al-Malik al-Muzaffar Ghazi, identifying the Artuqid ruler of Mayafariqin, surmounted by the Shahada formula. A circular marginal legend surrounds the hexagonal cartouche, all executed in the bold, angular hand typical of Artuqid copper coinage of the mid-thirteenth century. The flan is irregular and moderately broad, with the design showing characteristic die wear consistent with hammered production.
