| Reverse description | Within a central circle, a multi-line Arabic inscription bearing the titulature of the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir li-Din Allah. The legend is enclosed by a beaded circle, itself surrounded by a smooth outer circle, forming a concentric border arrangement. The inscription is arranged horizontally across the field in the manner typical of Ayyubid-era religious and legitimizing reverses. The overall design affirms the nominal suzerainty of the Abbasid caliphate over the issuing Hamdanid-descended Ayyubid emirate of Hamah. |
