Obverse description Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan displaying Arabic legend in the field arranged in two lines, recording the regnal year in written form. The inscription reads either 'احد واربعين سنة' (year seven hundred forty-one, AH 741) or 'اثنين واربعين سنة' (year seven hundred forty-two, AH 742), distinguishing two variant issues. The legends are executed in a bold, angular Naskh script characteristic of Mamluk copper coinage. The field is enclosed within a circular line border, and the surface exhibits the typical irregular contour and granular texture of a hand-struck Mamluk fals.
