Obverse description Arabic epigraphic legend in two lines within the field, divided by a horizontal bar: the upper register bearing the royal title and name of the sultan al-Malik al-Mansur, and the lower register bearing the mint name Trablus (Tripoli). The inscription is executed in a bold, angular Naskh script typical of late Mamluk copper coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly irregular in outline, consistent with hand-struck production. The overall die work is characteristic of provincial Mamluk mint output of the late fourteenth century.

Reverse description The reverse features a boldly struck figural motif depicting a mounted horseman or a lion passant with raised forepaw, rendered in a highly stylised and somewhat crude manner characteristic of Mamluk provincial copper coinage. The design occupies the majority of the flan, with the figure in profile facing right. The field surrounding the device is plain and unadorned. The strike is irregular with some weakness at the flan edges, consistent with hammered production at a provincial mint. No additional legend or inscription is apparent on this side.
