Obverse description Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan bearing a central Arabic inscription in the field, executed in a bold, somewhat crude Naskh script typical of late Mamluk copper coinage. The legend, partially visible due to weak striking and die wear, likely contains the sultan's honorific titles. The surfaces show characteristic dark patination and surface granularity consistent with base-metal Mamluk fals production. The design is confined to the central field with no border or decorative frame evident.
