| Obverse description | The obverse displays a multi-line Arabic inscription in Kufic-influenced script filling the central field, executed in bold raised relief characteristic of Ayyubid hammered copper coinage. The legends, arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, bear the religious formula and the name or titles of the ruling sultan al-Kamil Muhammad I. The strike is typical of the period, with slightly uneven flan edges and moderate relief. The flat field surrounding the inscription shows natural surface patina consistent with age and circulation wear. |
