Obverse description Pointillate border encircling a linear hexalobe design, with a small ringlet positioned at the apex of each convexity, the ringlets tangent to the inner border. The geometric interlace pattern is characteristic of Ayyubid decorative coinage of the late 12th century. The field within the hexalobe contains Arabic inscriptions typical of the type.
