Reverse description A semi-nude male figure holding a torch aloft is borne through the air by a winged Victory figure below him, who extends a laurel branch. The Grand Palais and Petit Palais are rendered in low relief in the lower field. A rectangular cartouche at the bottom bears the name of the recipient. The engraver's signature J.C. CHAPLAIN appears in the lower right field, and the date 1900 is inscribed to the right.
