Additional information

France's 2024–2025 commemorative program marking the progression from the June 1944 Normandy landings through to the May 1945 armistice covers each of the major Allied contributing nations in sequence. Czechoslovakia's inclusion acknowledges the Free Czechoslovak forces that fought under British command — most notably the Czechoslovak Armoured Brigade's prolonged siege of Dunkirk from September 1944 through to the German surrender there in May 1945, one of the stranger operational footnotes of the Western Front.

The quarter-euro denomination carries no legal tender utility in France's euro-denominated economy and is issued strictly as a collector piece under a legislative framework allowing the Monnaie de Paris to produce such face-value anomalies.
