Reverse description A long cross pattée at center, with a small trefoil or fleur-de-lis ornament at the end of each arm, dividing the reverse into four quadrants. The arms of the cross are separated by pellets or small decorative stops, with the whole design enclosed within an inner beaded circle. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the inner circle, reading + MOnETA⦂ MOVSADIES`, identifying the mint of Montmédy. The style is consistent with the esterlin coinage tradition derived from English sterling prototypes.
