Reverse description Central device features a heraldic shield adorned with an Imperial eagle perched upon a thunderbolt, the shield encircled by the collar of the Légion d'honneur. The ensemble is placed upon a draped mantle, from which a sceptre and a main de justice emerge on either side. The upper legend reads EMPIRE FRANÇAIS, while the denomination 1 F appears divided across the lower field, flanked by anchor privy marks and the date 1866 in the exergue.
