Reverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Valencia — the distinctive barred shield (pals de gules) surmounted by a royal crown — flanked on either side by the assayer's initials L L within a beaded inner border. The flan is roughly square with chamfered corners, consistent with hammered macuquina production. The partial circular legend VALENTIAE · MAIOR with the date 1688 and mint mark LL is distributed around the periphery, though incompletely struck due to the irregular planchet. The reverse design follows the established Valencian type used throughout the reign of Carlos II.
