| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Louis XIV facing right, wearing a long flowing wig, with the royal mantle visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the grand baroque style characteristic of late-reign portraiture. The circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading LVD. XIIII. D G FR. ET. NAV.
