Reverse description Central design composed of an elaborate Gothic cross fleury, its four arms terminating in trefoil finials and adorned with fleurs-de-lis at the angles, creating a decorative cruciform motif within a beaded inner circle. The quadrants formed by the cross arms are filled with naturalistic floral and foliate ornaments, including additional fleurs-de-lis, in the refined Gothic style characteristic of Valois royal goldsmithery. A small mint or emission differentiating mark may appear at the center or within the cross arms depending on the emission. The surrounding legend reads + XPC * VIИCIT * XPC * REGИAT * XPC * IИPERAT, the traditional Christus vincit acclamation invoking Christ as victor, ruler, and commander, enclosed between the beaded inner circle and the toothed outer rim.
