Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with naturalistically styled long flowing hair tied at the nape. The effigy, engraved by Jan Filip Holzhaeusser, displays fine neoclassical workmanship characteristic of late 18th-century Polish coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait reading STANISLAUS AUG. D.G. REX POL. M.D.L., abbreviating the king's full royal titulature as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. The legend is set close to the toothed border, with no inner beaded circle. The field is smooth and unadorned, directing full attention to the royal effigy.
