Reverse description Central device consisting of the royal arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth — a quartered shield bearing the Polish White Eagle and the Lithuanian Pursuer (Pahonia) — enclosed within a circular frame and surmounted by a royal crown with cross finial. The shield is flanked by two ornate palm and laurel branches forming a wreath at the base. The mint master's initials E.B. appear in the lower field, flanking a decorative floral ornament, with the denomination 8 GR. inscribed below. The surrounding Latin legend, divided across both sides of the coin, reads XL. EX. MARCA. PURA. COLONIEN. followed by the date and denomination 2 ZŁ., indicating the fineness standard of 40 coins struck per Cologne mark of pure silver.
