Reverse description The entire field is occupied by a seven-line Latin dedicatory inscription in bold Roman capitals, reading LUDOVICI / DELPHINI / ET / MARIAE IOSEPHAE / REG:POL:PRINC: / CONNUBIUM / DRESDAE / MDCCXLVII, commemorating the marriage of Louis, Dauphin of France, and Maria Josepha, Princess of Poland, celebrated at Dresden in 1747. No figural imagery appears; the legend fills the field from top to bottom. The rim is finished with the same milled granulation as the obverse.
