Obverse description Radiate bust of Vespasian facing right, draped at the shoulder, with a globe at the point of the neck. The portrait is rendered in a vigorous, realistic style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. The radiate crown, composed of seven pointed rays, serves as the conventional mark of denomination for the dupondius. The surrounding field bears the imperial titulature in incuse Latin letters. The overall composition is bold and well-centred within a beaded border.
