In her right hand she holds a branch and rests a rudder upon a globe set at her feet, symbolising the guidance of fate and fortune, while her left hand cradles a cornucopiae, emblematic of abundance and prosperity. The composition is set within a plain field, with the senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) prominently displayed, flanking the standing figure. The reverse legend arcs above the figure. The design reflects the standard Flavian dynastic propaganda associating Vespasian's return to Rome with restored fortune. |
