| Reverse description | Abundantia, personification of abundance, seated left upon a throne or chair, her figure rendered in classical draped style. She holds a sceptre in her right hand and rests upon or gestures toward crossed cornucopiae, symbols of plenty and imperial prosperity. The legend is disposed around the field in two registers, with the large senatorial SC monogram prominently placed in the lower field, affirming the senatorial authority under which this bronze denomination was issued. The composition reflects the early Trajanic emphasis on themes of beneficence and imperial generosity. |
