| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted with characteristic close-cropped hair and strong facial features in the Roman imperial portrait tradition. The emperor's effigy is shown with a radiate crown, distinguishing this denomination as a dupondius rather than an as.
