| Obverse description | Radiate draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with aegis on left shoulder, rendered in the authoritative portrait style characteristic of his later reign. The emperor's strong, bearded features are depicted with naturalistic detail, the radiate crown identifying the denomination as a dupondius. The encircling Latin legend occupies the full periphery of the flan.
