| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Tiberius facing left, depicted with short curly hair and a draped shoulder, rendered in the restrained classical style typical of provincial Tiberian coinage. The legend encircles the bust along the outer rim of the flan, reading TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST IMP VIII, identifying the emperor as son of the deified Augustus and recording his eighth imperatorial acclamation. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief, with strong facial features conveying imperial gravitas. The reverse impression is faintly visible as a ghost strike through the thin flan, characteristic of hammered provincial bronzes of this period. |
