| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered in the realist portrait style characteristic of Hadrianic coinage, with the emperor's distinctive beard clearly visible. The effigy is set within an unbordered field, with the imperial legend disposed around the periphery. The portrait displays the curled hair and full beard that became a hallmark of Hadrian's numismatic iconography, breaking from the clean-shaven tradition of earlier emperors.
