| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with a full beard rendered in fine curling strands characteristic of the Hadrianic portraiture tradition. The emperor's drapery falls over the left shoulder and is visible at the truncation, while the portrait conveys a strong, individualistic likeness. The circumferential legend runs along the border of the flan in Latin capitals. The coin exhibits a deep green patina consistent with long burial, with the portrait in relatively high relief. |
