| Obverse description | Bare-headed and laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic short curly hair and clipped beard in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The imperial effigy is depicted with strong facial modelling, the laurel wreath clearly defined atop the head. The encircling legend runs from lower left to upper right around the periphery of the flan. The portrait style is consistent with the mature Hadrianic coinage of the mid-130s AD, displaying the emperor's well-known philhellenic aesthetic sensibility. |

| Reverse description | The personification of Moneta, goddess of the mint, depicted standing in full figure facing left, draped in a long tunic and palla. In her raised right hand she holds a pair of scales, symbolic of the just weight and measure of coinage, while her left arm supports a cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The S C (Senatus Consultum) mark of senatorial authority appears in the field on either side of the figure, flanking the central image. The surrounding legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan, and the overall composition is characteristic of the allegorical reverse types favoured on Hadrianic aes coinage. |
