| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and bearded bust of Hadrian facing right, the hair rendered in characteristic wavy locks beneath the laurel wreath. The emperor's portrait displays the distinctive full beard introduced by Hadrian, a novel feature in Roman imperial iconography. The draped and cuirassed shoulder is visible at the bust truncation. A beaded border frames the circumference of the flan. The encircling legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P. |

| Reverse description | The personification of Fides (Faith/Loyalty) stands facing right in the field, draped in a long stola, holding corn ears or poppies in her raised right hand and a patera or dish of fruits in her lowered left hand. The large senatorial authorisation marks S and C (Senatus Consultum) are prominently placed to either side of the central figure in the field. The encircling legend FIDES PVBLICA appears around the periphery. The composition reflects the Hadrianic programme of public virtues celebrated on the imperial bronze coinage. |
