| Obverse description | Radiate or laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with bare chest and traces of drapery visible on the far shoulder. The portrait renders Hadrian in the mature Imperial style characteristic of his reign, with finely detailed hair and beard. The obverse legend encircles the effigy, naming the emperor in the nominative case. The treatment of the bust — laureate, bare-chested, with a hint of paludamentum — is consistent with aes coinage of the later Hadrianic series dated to AD 129–130. |

| Reverse description | A sailing ship depicted in left profile, shown under full sail with rigging detailed in the die engraving; a figurehead at the prow is sometimes present, and the legend is occasionally inscribed on the sail itself. The reverse type alludes to Felicitas, the personification of good fortune and prosperity, here expressed through the maritime imagery of a favourable voyage. The exergue is plain, with the legend distributed around or upon the design. The senatorial authorization mark S C appears prominently in the field or legend, confirming the aes denomination. This reverse type is associated with Hadrian's travels and the celebration of imperial felicity. |
