| Obverse description | Bare-headed and laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with short beard and draped paludamentum on the left shoulder, rendered in the characteristic Hadrianic portrait style with finely articulated facial features. The emperor's effigy is presented in high relief against a flat field, with the laurel wreath clearly visible crowning the head. The encircling legend runs from lower left to lower right around the bust. The flan shows the typical irregular fabric of a struck bronze sestertius-range denomination from the Rome mint. |
