| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing left, rendered in the naturalistic Hadrianic portrait style characteristic of the Roman imperial series. The emperor's effigy is depicted with the customary laurel wreath denoting imperial and military authority. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially legible on this worn example. The flan shows the typical irregular striking and surface patina consistent with bronze coinage of the early second century AD. |
